Four members of a gang that stole beer trucks were captured by police officers from the province of Buenos Aires. The thieves hid all the merchandise in a bunker in Ingeniero Budge, Lomas de Zamora.
According to what Crónica learned, police authorities defined the band as “beer pirates.” The group of thieves used to attack trucks that transported, above all, beer bottles in different locations in the Buenos Aires suburbs.
The person in charge of carrying out the investigation was the Departmental Investigation Delegation (DDI) of La Matanza. Along with members of the Buenos Aires police, they managed to identify the members of the gang and the vehicles they used to rob the drinks trucks.
The arrests took place last Thursday, after the theft of a truck in the city of La Plata. The stolen merchandise could be recovered and, due to the fact, two men were arrested. After analyzing the seized phones, they found the whereabouts of two other subjects.
After the phones gave an approximate geographic location and after reviewing the toll booths, prosecutor Gonzalo Petit Bosnic of the UFI No. 3 of La Plata ordered four raids. In this way, four of the “beer pirates” were arrested and the vehicles used to commit the crimes were hijacked.
