But it is so real that many people have a new opportunity to live thanks to that. For example, we have the story of a woman here in Mexico who received a heart transplant at the IMSS.
The miraculous procedure was performed on a 46-year-old woman. she is still alive today thanks to the fact that the relatives of a young man decided to donate his organs.

The transfer of the heart to carry out the transplant was initially carried out by helicopter from the Central Hospital of Chihuahua —where the organs were extracted from the 21-year-old—, to the High Specialty Medical Unit located in Magdalena de las Salinas, south of Mexico City. From there the heart was transported by land to La Raza.
It is very important to mention that the young man’s liver and corneas were sent to the Hospital de Especialidades and the Hospital de Pediatría of the Centro Médico Nacional de Occidente of the IMSS in Guadalajara; the kidneys, on the other hand, were taken to the “Salvador Zubirán” National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition.
The IMSS plans to benefit six more patients with these organsthat’s clear, in addition to the woman who received the heart transplant.
