The US social networking conglomerate Meta (classified in Russia as an extremist organization) plans to carry out several rounds of layoffs in the coming months, which in total may be comparable to the largest workforce reduction in its history, carried out in the 2022, which resulted in the departure of 13% of its staff, reports The Wall Street Journal citing sources familiar with the matter.
According to the report, the first round of layoffs will be announced next week and would mainly affect non-engineering jobs. Additionally, Meta is expected to suspend several projects in connection with those layoffs.
