Tarasova said that it is impossible to forbid the British to act against the admission of Russia to the Olympics
Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova commented on the actions of the British authorities to prevent Russian athletes from participating in the 2024 Olympic Games (OI) in Paris. Her words lead “Match TV”.
“Well, the British don’t decide who to allow and who not,” Tarasova said. She stressed that in Russia they cannot forbid the British to write such letters.
Earlier on March 11, the Guardian reported on a trick by the UK authorities, according to which they asked the major sponsors of the Olympic Games to put pressure on the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to prevent Russian athletes from competing. It was noted that London turned to Coca-Cola, Intel, Samsung and Visa.
On January 25, the IOC announced that it was considering the possibility of individual admission to competitions for Russian and Belarusian athletes. It was noted that only athletes who did not support the conduct of a special operation in Ukraine and did not violate anti-doping rules will be able to get permission to compete in international tournaments.
The Olympic Games are to be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
