By Saturday morning, 120 operations came together, 60 fire brigades were required with 900 forces. No injuries were reported. “The operations are spread across the state, almost every district is equally affected. Trees fell on streets and also on houses, site fences and trampolines were blown away. Parts of the roof were also covered. Luckily, there was no need to save people,” said a spokesman for the state fire service. The worst should be over by now. “We expect reassurance.”
In St. Pankraz in the Kirchdorf district, the storm paralyzed a railway line on Friday evening. 35 passengers had to be evacuated from a train at around 6.30 p.m. after damage to the overhead line in order to continue the journey by bus. The fire brigade cleared a path through bushes between the railway embankment and a goods road, illuminated the scene and helped with getting off and changing trains. Nobody got hurt.
