Borna Sosa

Defender Borna Sosa from Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart, which is threatened with relegation, is looking to move to a club that regularly takes part in the Champions League. One of my goals is to eventually switch to a club that has these ambitions on a permanent basis, said the Croatian international in an interview with the Stuttgarter Zeitung and the Stuttgarter Nachrichten (Saturday). It doesn’t matter which country that would ultimately be.

Sosa’s contract with the Swabians runs until June 30, 2025. During the winter break, the 25-year-old was about to switch to league rival Bayer Leverkusen. Ultimately, however, the Stuttgarters rejected a transfer. I accept this decision and we have remained that I will continue to do everything for VfB and that we may look for a solution in the summer, explained Sosa.

The full-back is fighting with VfB to remain in the league. The relegation battle is getting on my nerves, Sosa admitted. The Stuttgarters also have to deal with their considerable fluctuations in performance. Sometimes it looks like we’re only delivering 60 per cent and then 120 per cent again, said the defensive man. I do think it has something to do with the fact that we have to approach almost every game like a final. That fuels fear in our actions, especially when things don’t work out.
