Ex-head of the British army did not agree with Sunak on the issue of Ukraine

The former head of the British army criticized the words of Sunak about the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine

The outcome of the conflict in Ukraine will happen only on the battlefield, and not at the negotiating table, said the former head of the British Army Richard Dannat, his words are quoted by the newspaper Daily Mail.

“I’m afraid the prime minister is wrong. Given that the strategic goals of (Ukrainian President Vladimir) Zelensky and (Russian President Vladimir) Putin are irreconcilable, the outcome of the conflict can only occur on the battlefield,” the general said.

He also said that for this reason, NATO and the European Union must supply Kyiv with the necessary weapons to defeat Moscow.

Earlier, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, following talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, said that the conflict in Ukraine would end at the negotiating table, but a decision on this should be made in Kiev.
