The snowfall and the low temperatures have led to ice accidents in parts of Lower Saxony. In the Hanover area, the police reported 130 ice accidents in the last 24 hours on Saturday morning. There were no serious injuries. In addition, there were 94 danger spots, for example due to fallen trees or broken-down cars.
The Hanover fire brigade has also reported around 50 operations for the city and region of Hanover since Friday evening. There were no larger operations or injuries, it was mainly a matter of fallen trees.
In the Osnabrück area, the police reported 131 slippery accidents – people were injured in 15 accidents, how bad it was initially unknown. In addition, there were 85 danger spots.
