Without going any further, in Andalusia the number of victims rose by 16%, as reflected in the annual data from the Observatory against Domestic and Gender Violence corresponding to 2022.
Specifically, during 2022, the Andalusian courts received a total of 38,752 complaints, 14.1% more than the previous year, in which 33,956. There were 37,937 women victims of sexist violence, 15.9% more than in 2021, the year in which 32,745 were recorded. Three out of four female victims (74.8%) were Spanish. Andalusia thus presents a rate of 86.3 victims of gender violence for every 100,000 women.
The percentage of female victims who availed themselves of the exemption from the legal obligation to declare remained similar to that of 2021. A total of 2,130 victims, 5.6% of the total, They refused to testify against their attackers. Of them, 1,482 were Spanish and 648 of other nationalities.
Regarding protection orders, in 2022 a total of 9,563 protection orders and those adopted totaled 7,334.
The judicial bodies also agreed, derived from protection orders and other precautionary measures, a total of 14,376 criminal judicial measures protection of victims (women and minors). In the criminal sphere, the most frequent were restraining orders (5,463), which represented 38% of the total criminal precautionary measures adopted, practically the same percentage as the prohibition of communication (5,429), 37.7 percent of the all measures.
On the other hand, the judicial bodies issued 4,197 precautionary measures whose purpose is the protection of women and minors while the criminal process is resolved. The most frequent were those related to the provision of food (1,407), which represented 33.5% of the total civil measures adopted, and those related to the attribution of housing (1,011), 24% of the total.
During 2022, 808 civil measures to suspend the visiting regime were also agreed. This type of measures, which represented 19.2% of the total civil measures adopted, increased compared to 2021 as a result of the application by the judicial bodies of the reform of article 544 of the Criminal Procedure Law which, since June 2021, establishes the suspension of the visiting regime “when a protection order is issued with criminal measures and there are well-founded indications that minor sons and daughters have witnessed, suffered or lived” with the violence of gender.
The civil measure consisting of the suspension of guard and custody also increased: the 348 measures of this type represent 8.2% of the total civil measures agreed in 2022.
