In the Belgorod region, the construction of the “notch line” – defensive structures on the border with Ukraine, was completed, the head of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov said during a direct line with residents.
“We have completed it. Finished a long time ago. I hope that the enemy sees to what extent and with what quality it was built, ”said Gladkov. He added that 10 billion rubles were spent on the “notch line”, which did not come from the regional budget.
Gladkov first announced in November 2022 that a “security line” was being built in the border areas of the region. In December, he showed pictures of the construction. The governor has not yet published pictures of the finished “notch line”.
In January, it became known that during the construction of defensive structures, one of the settlements was “cut off” from the Belgorod region. Gladkov said that the operational situation does not allow drawing a line directly on the border with Ukraine. He noted that “the presence of individual settlements or farms in front or behind the line does not mean that someone has abandoned someone.”
