SLP and Red Ambiental are recognized with the Trajectory Award in Waste Management

The Association of Professionals in Waste DS Latinoamericana, presented the San Luis Potosí City Council (SLP) and the leading company in waste management and use, Red Ambiental, the Award for Trajectory in Waste Management, on March 8 in the framework of the Waste Expo 2023.

The recognition is the first to be granted as part of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) and was received by the mayor of San Luis Potosi, Enrique Galindo Ceballos.

The actions implemented during 2022 were recognized, such as the implementation of the “My Always Clean Historic Center” program, where new collection schedules were established that are adapted to four sectors of the first square of the city, allowing simultaneous collections and efficiencies that they avoided the abandonment of garbage, managing to collect more than 2,800 tons.

An investment of 10 and a half million pesos was made in fifth wheel units to carry out the transfer of the collected tons; Obtaining certifications by the Integral Waste Processing Center of Red Ambiental in SLP in ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 14001 in Environmental Management Systems.

The execution of the “Domingo de Pilas” program and the deployment of environmental education campaigns where it was possible to train and raise awareness among 26,000 people about caring for the environment, and the execution of programs of the Red Ambiental company such as “Environmental Detectives”, “Red With you”, “I like it clean”, “Redforestando”, “Mini Fans” and “Huertos Familiares”.

Of course, this recognition is a way of demonstrating that things can work when we dialogue and share a vision where citizens are at the center of all decisions. For his part, the President of the Board of Directors of Red Ambiental, Horacio Guerra, mentioned that everything has been thanks to the trust that the city of San Luis Potosí has ​​given them, where after years of working hand in hand, they have verified that this city It is a great example to follow in solid waste management in the country.
