Lollapalooza attraction Kevin Parker announces broken hip and scares Tame Impala fans

Vocalist confirmed tour of Latin America, which will end with a performance at the festival, in São Paulo; band will also visit Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Paraguay

The musician Kevin Parkerfrom the band Tame Impala, announced this Thursday, 9, that he underwent a delicate surgery after fracturing his hip. On social media, he vented about the incident on the eve of a series of shows in Latin America. “I broke my hip. Tried to run a half marathon which turned out to be an existing stress fracture. Arrived 1 kilometer from the finish line. That’s life, I guess. All shows in Mexico and Latin America will go ahead as planned. I will not give up on you”, wrote the official profile of the band, with photos of the surgical process. The band’s first show takes place this Friday, in Mexico. In all, the group will play in six countries and will finish the presentations at the festival. Lollapalooza, in São Paulo, on March 25th. Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Paraguay are also on the schedule. With four cancellations of presentations in this edition of Lollapalooza Brazil, fans were shaken by Parker’s state of health and fear for the coming of the band, which is one of the main attractions of the event. “For God’s sake, I’m cardiac. Let’s recover, Brazil awaits you”, wished a fan. “You can do the show in Brazil sitting down, but do it, for the love of God”, wrote another.
