So far, 3.25 million tickets have been sold for next year’s Olympic Games in Paris.
In the first sales phase there was an enormous rush, the organizers announced on Thursday. Two thirds of the tickets were bought by French people, and people from 158 countries bought tickets.
A large part was available at affordable prices: around 50 percent cost 50 euros or less.
In the first sales phase, tickets were sold for all sports, except for surfing. The tickets for climbing and BMX freestyle were already sold out on the first day, while those for fencing, judo, breakdance and track cycling were sold out after just a few days.
Football, athletics, rugby 7, basketball and volleyball sold the most. The second registration phase starts on March 15th. A total of around ten million tickets will be sold for the games.
