At 5 and 48, the TBM that broke underground cables
Minutes before 4:00 p.m., users reported power outages in different areas of the Urban Area and especially in the center.
As warned by readers through the Whatsapp of THE DAYThe affected areas were both in the center and in different neighborhoods and many traffic lights were affected, so traffic was complicated.
Around 5:00 p.m., Edelap issued a statement stating that a “company that was carrying out underground work damaged the Edelap network, causing a service interruption in different sectors of the city.”
“Edelap reports that a company that was carrying out underground work at the corner of 5 and 48 damaged the power distribution network at 3:50 p.m., causing an interruption in the electrical service in sectors of the town of La Plata, Villa Elvira, Los Hornos y Altos de San Lorenzo”.
“Edelap’s staff inspected the facilities and was able to verify that at the corner of 5 and 48 a tunnel had caused the interruption,” it was detailed.
“The staff will continue working in the next few hours on the total normalization of the service in other sectors of the town, Los Hornos, Villa Elvira and Altos de San Lorenzo that were affected by this damage caused by third parties. Edelap staff proceeded to carry out the maneuvers necessary to provide supply to users through alternative routes and after 25 minutes half of the users affected by this damage located in the center of the city had already recovered the service”, they pointed out.
