Several people were killed and a few injured in a shooting in Hamburg on Thursday evening. The police speak of a large situation. “The dead all have gunshot wounds,” said a police spokesman. Ambulances and several emergency doctors are on duty.
Around 9 p.m. the first emergency calls were received by the fire brigade and the police. The callers reported gunshots. According to the Hamburg police, one or more perpetrators shot people in a church on Deelböge street in the Gross Borstel district. It is said to be a center for Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The streets at the site of the damage were blocked off extensively and the police issued a warning message: “Avoid the danger area. In the danger zone, stay where you are and do not go outside for the time being.
