Deep cracks in the Valencian Government. Podemos has charged against its two coalition partners in the regional Executive who presides over the socialist Ximo Puig after the Socialists voted together with the PP and Vox in favor of taking into consideration the reform of the law of only yes is yes this Tuesday in the Congress of Deputies. The latter, a norm of which 730 convicted sex offenders have already benefited from reduced sentences. And after, also, that Compromís, who is represented in Congress by his candidate for the Generalitat Joan Baldoví decided to abstain. «Voting with the PP and Vox is a shame. Abstaining due to electoralism, an act of cowardice», he has written on his profile twitter the first vice president of the Generalitat Hector Illuecafrom Podemos, in a clear criticism of PSOE and Compromís, which marks the seriousness of the internal conflict.
The total rupture that has split the Government of Spain with anger between the partners, has also occurred in the Valencian Community, directed from Podemos to Compromís and the socialists. To each of them, as a result of their different positions in the vote in Congress this Tuesday: Compromís abstained. And the PSOE voted in favor. In this dispute, the PP has also manifested itself, which in its case has charged Compromís for its abstention.
Thus, with less than three months to go before the regional elections, the Valencian government is facing a deep crisis, resulting from the start of the reform of the law of only yes is yes in Congress. Not one of the three legs on which it stands (PSOE, Compromís and Podemos) agrees with the position that each of the others has maintained coalition partners.
Héctor Illueca has written a few hours ago in his twitter a message that makes clear the crack open in the Executive of Ximo Puig, with two criticisms, one to each of the partners in that Executive, very clear: «Voting with the PP and Vox is a shame. Abstaining due to electoralism, an act of cowardice».
But in the case of Compromís, criticism has also come from the PP: «Pure cowardice that Compromís abstain“said the spokeswoman popular María José Catalá, who has also been “very disappointed with those who came to give us lessons in feminism and have not known how to be together with the women who have suffered this sexual violence and sexual assaults nor have they known how to rise to the circumstances when they had to make a firm vote for a regulation that is harmful to all women ».
The Valencian Government plans to hold its next plenary session this Friday. Baldoví will not be in that conclave, because he is not a counselor. But there will be representatives of his formation. Also, they will be Ximo Puig and Hector Illueca. We will have to wait until then to find out if Illueca reproduces the criticism leveled at his two partners at that meeting.
