Georgian special forces forced protesters out of the square in front of the parliament in Tbilisi
The special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia forced the protesters out of the square in front of the parliament on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. This is reported TASS.
The police entered the avenue from two sides – Freedom Square and April 9 Street. Water cannons and tear gas were used to disperse the demonstrators. The demonstrators fled into the nearby streets.
On the evening of the adoption of the draft law “On transparency of foreign influence”, the first protest action was held in Tbilisi. During it, 66 people were detained. The protesters organized attacks on the parliament, threw Molotov cocktails and pyrotechnics at the police. Dissatisfied people set fire to the legislative building, threw stones, smashed windows and damaged iron security fences.
