Risto Mejide received Luis Rubialespresident of the Spanish Football Federation, to talk about various topics, mostly the sports scene in the program ‘Traveling with Chester’ that is emitted in Cuatro. Rubiales opened up to the popular presenter in an interview that took place on the pitch of the Escribano Castilla Stadium in Motril.
Of the many topics they discussed, Risto Mejide asked Luis Rubiales about the medal controversy of the Women’s Super Cup. An image that gave a lot to talk about since the Barça players had to put on the medals themselves.
Given this, Luis Rubiales spoke clearly: “At the image level it was disastrous, I will not deny it. When I saw that the players were taking the medals from the table, I turned around to look at the person in charge of the protocol and I told him who had done this because it’s fatal,” he began by saying.
“I told them that this does not happen to us anymore because with the sensitivity that there is, we throw away all the work that can be done for an image that is disastrous. The boys have done it, but neither the girls nor the boys have to do it . This is not well done, this was a tremendous screw up”continued on this topic.
“I have received a lot of criticism for thatI agree that we don’t have to do that again,” Luis Rubiales said before Risto Mejide.
