Liliana Resinovich died in Trieste
Liliana Resinovich may have been killed soon after the disappearance and her body preserved in cold temperatures and near a source of water. This is one of the hypotheses put forward by Professor Vittorio Fineschi of the University of Rome “La Sapienza” to whom the Penelope Association has entrusted a new consultancy.

Liliana Resinovich died in Trieste
There are still many obscure points in the death of Liliana Resinovich, the 63-year-old who disappeared on December 14, 2021 and was found dead on the following January 5 in a wooded area a few hundred meters away from home. The Trieste prosecutor’s office has asked that the case be closedhaving come to the conclusion that it was a suicide, a hypothesis in which, however, the family of the woman have never believed, in particular brother Sergius.
The man is assisted by the lawyer Nicodemo Gentile, president of the Penelope Association, who like him is convinced “increasingly that it is not suicide” and that “the truth is struggling to be affirmed. For this reason, Professor Vittorio Fineschi of the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and Dr. Stefano D’Errico of the University of Trieste were entrusted with technical consultancy aimed at re-examining the results of the investigation.

To the microphones of the TV program “Chi l’ha visto?”, broadcast on Rai Tre, Professor Fineschi explained what are the elements from which it is necessary to start again to carry out new investigations, in particular the bruises found on Liliana’s bodyon the face and head.
Liliana Resinovich, Prosecutor asks for filing: “No certainty about the day of death, but it was suicide”
The autopsy would reveal one bruise on the left side of the head which could have been caused by a blunt object. At the same time on the right hand of the woman there would be some grazes on her back, also in this case compatible with a hypothetical attempt to defend herself from an aggressor. According to Fineschi it is about “injuries documented but not interpreted”.
Finally, to raise doubts is also the day of death which, according to Professor Fineschi, is not clear, not even after the autopsy examination. The hypotheses put forward by the consultants would appear imprecise and would in no way exclude that the death occurred immediately after the disappearance. In support of this there would be numerous elements that would lead to the hypothesis that Liliana’s body was kept in a very cold place, with constant temperatures, or even frozen.

Finally, a foot and a hand of the 63-year-old would present typical characteristics of a maceration process which only happens when you are in contact with water for a long time, like a half-empty well. After the filing request and the new elements that are emerging, it will be the task of the judge for preliminary investigations to assess whether the case is to be considered closed or not. “By the end of the month we will present opposition to the filing request of the Trieste prosecutor’s office and we will ask for new investigations”, explained the lawyer Nicodemo Gentile.
