O Sao Paulo’s State Government reported that there were 809 cases of sheltering women who were victims of violence or harassment at train stations Subway in the year 2022 in the capital of São Paulo. In 2023, there were already 130 occurrences. The data are from the 62 stations of lines 1-Blue, 2-Green, 3-Red and 15-Silver, which participate in this project to welcome women. Actions to protect women began in November 2022 and the campaign is called “Red Signal Against Domestic Violence”. Victims only need to show a red “X” drawn on the palm of their hand to one of the station employees to file a report. With regard to trains CPTM, from 2022 to the beginning of 2023, there were 85 cases of reception in the project known as “Espaço Acolher”, which operates in 30 rooms with five lines: 7-Rubi, 10-Turquoise, 11-Coral, 12-Safira and 13-Jade. In Brazil, a woman is raped every 4 hours and almost 60% of cases are concentrated in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
