As confirmed by Variety, citing inside confidants, Disney has canceled two Star Wars movies that had been in development for some time. There are some more underway, but none have been approved. the announced premiere of one star wars movie in December of 2025is right now a huge void.

Looks like Lucasfilm still hasn’t recovered from the tremendous box office crash which was Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker, which grossed half that of Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.

That was in 2019, and since then, at least two Star Wars movies have been canceled. Variety has confirmed that Star Wars: Rogue Squadronwhich had a release date for December of this year, has been stuck in the freezer despite the fact that the Rogue Squadron stories are among the fan favorites.

After cancel two Star Wars moviesDisney has nothing for the advertised premiere of December 2025. The final decision could be between those projects of Taika Waitiki and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. But the clock is ticking, and a star wars movie it is complicated to do.
