Video footage of the security cameras in front of and in the Capitol, seat of the US Congress, was made available to the US broadcaster Fox News. Some of the first evaluations now show a slightly different picture of the supposedly spontaneous storming of the building on January 6, 2021. The view of the death of a police officer is also given a new evaluation.
The Capitol Building in Washington, DC is the seat of the US Congress, the legislature of the United States of America and a place of the highest respect for US citizens. It is where the Senate and House of Representatives meet. The pictures from January 6, 2021, of the supposedly spontaneous and wanton storming and devastation of various premises by Trump supporters, went around the world.
The transmitter FoxNews, with the well-known moderator Tucker Carlson, 40,000 hours of video material from the eventful day have now been made available for evaluation. The sequences come from the archived moments that the cameras on and inside the building documented during the hours of chaos. Carlson had already announced during his broadcast that he would present “the more interesting and revealing” video evidence to his audience after the evaluation. FoxNews titled regarding this on February 6th:
“Tucker Carlson releases exclusive footage from January 6th and says politicians and media lied about Sicknick and the ‘QAnon Shaman’.”
Sicknick means the policeman Brian Sicknick from the “Capitol Police”, who, according to unanimous US media reports, is described on January 6, 2021 as a victim of January 6, when he was murdered by rampaging Trump supporters in front of the Capitol. That’s what they reported New York Times initially that Sicknick was “killed with a fire extinguisher” before making the claim more than a month later withdrawn had. For the now published videos and Sicknick it says at FoxNews:
“Sicknick was (on the videos) seen walking normally while leading Trump supporters out of the building while wearing a helmet, which seems to contradict the media account that he died of a head injury. “This video debunks the most powerful and politically useful lie the Democrats have told us about January 6th,” Carlson told viewers.”
Carlson’s research team also found that the footage of Sicknick was electronically bookmarked in the Capitol archives. This means the House Special Committee on the Capitol Event saw the images, reviewed them, and then decided “not to include it in its widely publicized hearings and final report.”

However, the globally recognized personality, the well-known face of January 6, 2021, was Navy veteran Jacob Anthony Chansley, also referred to in the media as a QAnon shaman due to his more than conspicuous costume.
The evaluated video sequences now show Capitol police officers escorting Jacob Chansley through the building without incident or threats. Carlson goes on to explain that officers were seen on the videos showing Chansley around and even attempting to open locked doors for him. At one prominent point, at least nine police officers can be seen in close proximity to Chansley, “and none of them stopped him” or prevented him from walking through the building, Carlson said on his show. Chansley was sentenced to 41 months in prison in November 2021 “for his role in the US Capitol riots,” according to the US broadcaster CNN in its related headline.

The footage viewed by the Tucker team showed Trump supporters “peacefully inspecting the building” and “just onlookers,” as Carlson called it. In contrast, the footage of rioting and angry people in the building emphatically “and manipulatively” dominated US and worldwide reporting on January 6th. An event that is loud FoxNews “many in Washington have compared to 9/11 and the attack on Pearl Harbor”.
Tucker interviewed the columnist of the New York Post, Miranda Devine, to the publications. After consideration, she summed it up:
“You can see these people walking through the Capitol…they walk cautiously, stand in line politely, very peacefully. They mean no harm. They treat the Capitol with reverence. That doesn’t excuse the others, the minority of protesters, smashing windows, fighting police, injuring police officers and causing chaos.”
Some of those present “who have now been arrested, some of whom have been detained without trial for months, even years,” said Devine, said some of them did not commit violence. “They walked through open doors, they were escorted by the police, they thought it was fine. And I think Jacob Chansley is a classic example of that,” the columnist said New York Post at FoxNews.
Whether the “rioters” acted willfully or whether previously unknown dynamics in the background, possible secret service activities, prove otherwise, the coming publications will show if necessary. Carlson has already announced that more recordings will be on his show from January 6th Tucker Carlson Tonight will be seen.
