It is important to note that the National University of La Plata would be the first self-sustaining university in Latin America in energy matters.
The meeting that took place in the Rectorate of the house of studies from La Plata was attended by Fernando Taubervice president of the UNLP, accompanied by the dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Marcos Actisby Daniel TovioSecretary of Production and other researchers from different academic units.
What was resolved?
Finally the meeting concluded with the determination to analyze the possibility of land for the installation of the solar park.
At the same time, specialists and researchers from the Faculty of Engineering promised more studies in relation to the location, budget, financing, current energy consumption of the UNLP, work time and legal issues.
In this sense the vice president of the educational institution said: “We have to have energy sovereigntynot only for an energy issue, but also for the contribution to productive development, useful for society”. In addition, he sentenced saying that the University must be able to generate the energy it needs to function.
