The Yalta Economic Forum was going to be moved to Moscow due to “certain logistical features”

The Yalta International Economic Forum, which was postponed for several years for various reasons, may be held in September 2023 in Moscow. This was reported by Interfax, the head of the annexed Crimea Sergey Aksyonov told reporters.

The forum is going to be held “together with the new regions” – the annexed DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of Ukraine – and to coincide with the anniversary of the annexation. According to Aksenov, the new format is being prepared, it will be presented before April 1.

In his telegram channel Aksenov explained the decision to move the forum from Crimea to Moscow “certain logistical features.”

The Yalta International Economic Forum began to be held in 2015. Ukraine considered its participants to be violators of the law, since they came to Crimea without obtaining the consent of the Ukrainian authorities.

Since 2020, the forum has been repeatedly postponed for various reasons, including the coronavirus pandemic. The last time the event was postponed due to the “unstable international situation,” Interfax notes.
