The European Union required Elon Musk to hire more people to moderate and verify the content that is published on Twitter, with the aim of complying with the requirements established by the European Union Digital Services Law, which will enter into force next anus, reported this Tuesday Financial Times, citing people familiar with the matter.
Twitter currently employs human volunteers and artificial intelligence to detect illegal posts. However, it does not have personnel to carry out information verification tasks, as in the case of its competitor Meta (classified in Russia as an extremist organization).
According to the British newspaper, this request hampers Musk’s efforts to reorganize the financial state of the platform that he acquired in October last year. This situation forced the tycoon to lay off 75% of his company’s staff, including trusted and security personnel, while he looked for economic options to monitor the publications.
