Apple TV + believes that there are still not enough science fiction series in its catalog, and this is great news. The Cupertino company has recently announced ‘Silo’, a new series with which he seeks to show a dystopian story of a very, very bleak future.
The series is based on a book saga written by Hugh Howey called ‘Silo Chronicles’, although the books are called ‘Mirage’ and have been published on Amazon from 2011 to 2013. AMC Studios has been in charge of production, and this study has not accustomed us to disappointments.
‘Silo’: the truth can kill you
In Silo we will see the story of how the last ten thousand humans live in a gigantic bunker that protects them from a planet Earth whose atmosphere is no longer capable of supporting life. But the inhabitants of the shelter do not know who built it, or why; and everyone who tries to find out out of curiosity dies mysteriously.
And that is what an engineer named Juliette will risk, who will want to get answers on her own and discover why humanity has ended up almost exterminated and being forced to live almost two kilometers underground. Her role is played by Rebecca Ferguson, whom we have already seen in ‘Dune‘ or in the ‘Mission Impossible’ movie saga.
‘Silo’ will premiere on Apple TV+ next Friday, May 5 with the first two episodes, and we will see a weekly episode until the tenth on Friday, June 30. It will be the first season of a series that is pointing ways while we wait for the second season of other small great science fiction gems like ‘Invasion’.
