Podemos has turned the debate on the reform of the Law on only yes is yes in a challenge to his PSOE partners, whom he has warned that tomorrow, Wednesday, women will massively take to the streets to defend the Law promoted by Irene Montero, in the 8-M demonstrations.
The debate on the admission to processing of the text registered by the PSOE to stop the reduction of sentences for rapists and sexual offenders has revealed, more than ever, the bankruptcy of the government coalition headed by Pedro Sánchez.
The deputy of Podemos Lucía Muñoz has not hesitated to identify the PSOE, PP and the rest of the parties that are going to approve the reform, with the “fascists” who seek a setback in women’s rights.
“Tomorrow is 8-M,” she recalled, “we all have to go out and flood the streets to tell the fascists loud and clear that there are many more of us.” And he has warned about the reform that Congress is debating: “If this House turns its back on women, women will fight for their rights again“.
For her part, the PP spokesperson, Cuca Gamarra, considered that the reform of the Law on only yes is yes is not “a technical rectification, but an amendment to the entirety of Pedro Sánchez to his coalitionto frivolity, lack of solvency and arrogance” with which, in his opinion, he governs.
Gamarra has regretted that, with this rectification, the PSOE does not act moved by “remorse” or the social alarm that the “liberation of more than 74 sexual predators” has generated, but only by the “electoral alarm before the demoscopic collapse” which is predicted by almost all the polls.
And he has argued that President Pedro Sánchez (absent in the debate) is “hiding behind the women” so as not to “show face” in the face of the cascade of sentence reductions for rapists that the Law on only yes is yes.
