On a construction site - shot six centimeters long clamp in the arm

A serious accident at work occurred on Tuesday afternoon at a construction site in the Ausserfern region of Tyrol. A “shot” was fired while handling a compressed air stapler.

A 33-year-old was busy with a work colleague on a construction site in Ehrwald attaching wooden slats to the ceiling for formwork work. That’s when it happened! The colleague wanted to hand the man a compressed air clamp to attach the wooden slats. For reasons that are still unclear, the trigger of the device was activated and the 33-year-old was shot with a six-centimetre-long clamp in the forearm. The co-worker provided first aid and called an ambulance. The injured man had to be flown to the Innsbruck clinic.
