Public transport in Naples
Leave your car parked in via Girolamo Santacrocethe road that connects theArenella and the Vomero to the historic center, and the traffic goes crazy. Queues of cars and even an entire bus line, the 139, of the ANM is forced to change route. It happened yesterday afternoon in Naples. Local police officers arrived on the spot, coordinated by Commander Ciro Esposito, who tried to track down the owner of the car, which was probably stopped due to a breakdown.
The Anm: “Forced to change the route of the buses”
Due to the blockage on the road, the ANM has diverted the route of the Bus Line 139, as it explained in a post on Facebook: “Line 139: due to a prohibited parking car in via Girolamo Santacroce the route is being diverted. Departing from Cardarelli, having reached piazza Medaglie d’oro, does not continue along via Menzinger but along via Niutta, v. Gigante, v. B. Caracciolo and its own route. The return is unchanged”.
Unfortunately, the phenomenon of wild parking in the Vomero area is not uncommon. On Sunday morning, the prohibited cars parked outside the exit of the Montesanto funicular in San Martino created many inconveniences for travellers. Cars were also parked on crosswalks, preventing pedestrians from crossing the street. Families with pushchairs for small children and users with motor disabilities suffered particular hardships.

In September 2021, a prohibited car parked in via Domenico Cimarosa al Vomero, not far from the entrance to the Villa Floridianblocked the bus of Line 130 of the Anm o. In a few minutes the traffic was paralyzed and a real frenzy broke out. Crazy horns, shouts, curses and a queue of cars that from via Cimarosa arrives at the intersection with via Luca Giordano, in the direction of via Cilea. A prohibited stop, even if for a few minutes, managed to block the block during rush hour, when dozens of parents brought their children home after the first day of school.
