Melinda fought tooth and nail so that Esmeralda’s biological parents would not get custody of Esmeralda, as both parents were in active addiction. But Melinda was not listened to.
The biological parents received custody of Esmeralda. On January 30, 2020, Esmeralda was found dead. Her biological parents had killed her. She was only three years old.

Melinda Jacobs was met with criticism after the collaboration
On Instagram, Melinda today has almost 140,000 followers, and there she updates partly about her life as a stay-at-home mother, everyday life with future husband Martin “E-Type” Eriksson, but also about the newborn daughter Isadora as she has with the E-Type.
Melinda is extremely passionate about children and on Instagram she often highlights high-profile cases in Sweden that concern children’s rights. Something that her followers often encourage.
As a public figure, Melinda is unfortunately hit with slurs from time to time, and in the podcast “Family Friendly” like Melinda has with her friends John and Johan Valencia This is how Melinda talks about the criticism she faces.
– Everything is possible. It is an opinion and thinking about just about everything. How I look, and what I do and what I don’t do. Many are straightforward, says Melinda in the podcast.
She tells about some examples of things that followers have criticized.
– It could be that I have long nails. It is not suitable when you have small children to have it. That I would take worse care of them then, says Melinda.
Melinda’s pink hair has also been the subject of criticism. Something that started when the former moderate politician Maria Abrahamsson wrote a tweet criticizing Melinda’s hair color.
“Everything is so horrible about Esmeralda #Lillahjaertat but it doesn’t help that the foster mom has pink hair. Someone should tell her,” she wrote.
In addition to her appearance, Melinda has also received other unpleasant comments. This is because she has chosen to do a collaboration on her Instagram.
