“Entertainment programs are just that, entertainment and, therefore, their presenters and collaborators must refrain from issuing opinions, preferences or political comments within the program. The only exception will be given by those programs that have a specific section on political news; but, except in this section, the rule is the same”, reads the first point of the guiding principles in entertainment programs, included in the Mediaset code of ethics.
At the end of January the new code of ethics for Mediaset Spain in which they made clear some new guidelines regarding their formats. The point that we have just highlighted is the one that affects the ‘Save me’ program the most, since the political speeches were very up to date, whether it was bethlehem esteban praising the Spanish monarchy already javier javier defending the rights that the political left has promulgated.
On the set they were analyzing the images that had come to them of Kiko Hernández with his great “friend” Fran Anton. In the photographs that were shown in the program, they were seen very sweethearted by the city of NY.
The program debated whether Hernández should come out of the closet, if it will be confirmed that the actor is his partner. Jorge Javier raised his voice to say that If your partner has a relationship with the actor, you should step forward and say so for the good of the LGTBI collective.
Alonso Caparrós did not agree and made Jorge take out his most political vein: “There are parties that are against these freedoms. Every year there are too many attacks to shut us up. As much as it weighs on us, in life everything is political and there is no other. Any action from when you get up to when you go to bed is political“.
