A little over a week before we welcome back the Richmond AFC boys, the future of ‘Ted Lasso’, the excellent Apple TV+ comedy, seems closer and closer to the farewell after these next twelve episodes. This has been suggested by various actors in the series, but this time it is himself jason sudeikis who assures that they have reached an end to the story.
In statements collected by DeadlineSudeikis has felt very flattered that the spectators want to see more of the adventures of the coach, But you think the time has come to say goodbye:
This is the end of this story that we wanted to tell, that we hoped to tell, that we love to tell. The fact that people want more and are curious beyond what they even know yet—season 3—is flattering. Maybe by May 31, once all 12 episodes of the season (have aired) are like, “Hey, you know what, we got it, we’re good. We don’t need more, we got it.” But until then I appreciate the curiosity beyond what we’ve done so far.”
Let’s remember that, in addition to starring, Sudeikis is the co-creator of the character and the series so his words are practically a confirmation that there really will be no season 4 of ‘Ted Lasso’.
Open to possible spin-offs
Of course, the fact that it is the possible end of the Apple TV + series does not mean that they do not plan to continue exploring the universe lassian since it recognizes that they have thought about the Possibility of doing a spin-off:
«I think we have set the table for all kinds of colleagues… to see how to continue those stories. Again, I can’t help but take the question with a grain of salt for what all of us who have been working on the show have tried to do. It’s really kind of him to even consider that because you never know what’s going to happen when you do things. The fact that people want more… even if it’s a different avenue, it’s adorable.”
Season 3 of ‘Ted Lasso’ will land on Apple TV+ on next wednesday 15 March and will take us to a Richmond having to overcome the sports forecasts and the growing rivalry with his former coach Nathan.
