The board of directors of the Círculo de Periodistas de la Provincia de Buenos Aires held its monthly meeting and paid tribute to President Eduardo Tucci, who passed away the previous Monday.
The meeting, which took place last Thursday, was planned some time before by Tucci and the authorities decided to hold it as a first tribute to the leader.
At the meeting they remembered the journalist’s trajectory and there was a minute of silence.
Then Vice President Hugo Mársico assumed the presidency of the Círculo, in accordance with the provisions of the entity’s bylaws. “The board of directors aspires to continue the work of Eduardo Tucci and in this sense will try to maintain the tradition of the Círculo, an institution that in this 2023 celebrates 115 years of life, but, at the same time, continue in an updating process, calling to the new generations; so that the institution continues to be a beacon of journalism and of the community”, they said from the Círculo.
The meeting continued with the treatment of the order that included a balance of the summer season; the realization next week of a play, the beginning of the film cycle and a day of activity with a free lecture from the UNLP.
The participation of the Círculo in the tributes to the photojournalist José Luis Cabezas in Pinamar and to the poet and journalist Pedro Bonifacio Palacios “Almafuerte”, in the La Plata Cemetery, was reported.
It was also reported on the performance in the Promotional Board for La Plata to host the International Congress of the Spanish Language and on the participation in a literary contest related to Italian Immigration. Likewise, the concretion of the Ordinary annual assembly in April was approved; there was a report on the participation of the Circle in the Federation of Cultural Institutions and activities were planned.
