A 25-year-old subject starred in a somewhat unusual situation: he was in prison, he left the police station, hid in front of it and fell again, for robbing a house. For this fact, a judge in Flagrancy sentenced him to 2 years in prison with conditional compliance, judicial sources said.
The young man’s name is Matías Roberto García Fernández, who accepted the punishment in an abbreviated trial in which he was convicted of the crime of attempted robbery aggravated by burglary.
The incident occurred last Sunday. The subject was housed by a criminal file at the 27th police station (located in the Aramburu neighborhood of Rivadavia), and after obtaining his freedom, he went inside some monoblocks that are in front of the police headquarters. There he waited for it to get dark a little more and when he had the opportunity, knowing that there were no residents, he entered one of the homes forcing the iron door that allows entry to the apartment.
Once inside, he began to rummage through all the owner’s belongings, placing a cardboard box on the dining room table, which he filled with the victim’s personal effects.
In addition, he began to throw some belongings out of the back window (facing a common public area of the complex), including a sack that contained a video camera and two pairs of slippers.
However, his plans were ruined when a 12-year-old grandson of the owner arrived, who, thinking that his grandfather was inside, since he heard noises, began to call him to open the door for him. At that moment, the boy observed his grandfather coming down the sidewalk, and surprised, he told her that noises were being heard inside the apartment.
The owner tried to enter and that is when he ran into the offender, who was trying to get out. However, the victim prevented him from doing so, while his grandson ran to the 27th section, whose personnel approached and detained García again.
