Errors with the Siri Remote on Apple TV? the solution arrives

Apple TV has become one of the most convenient ways to enjoy multimedia content at home. This little device plugs into your TV and allows us to access a whole world of content, from movies and series to sports and live news through games and applications. That without counting its integration with Siri.

However, like any other technological device, the Apple TV is not exempt from some occasional error. One that is happening on some devices lately is that the Siri Remote, the remote control that comes with the device, is behaving erratically. Arriving, in fact, to be able to stop working correctly, which requires an Apple TV restart.

An error that has its days numbered

Fortunately, Apple has released an update to the tvOS operating system that fixes this bug.. The update, tvOS 16.3.3, is available for Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD. If we have one of these Apple TVs we can download the update directly from the app settings > System > Software update.

The update is quite small and does not include significant changes. Instead, it focuses on fixing bugs and improving performance with a special mention to that “fixes a bug that could cause the Siri Remote to stop responding on Apple TV 4K (3rd generation)”.

The solution for the Siri Remote error, although it affects a low number of users, is certainly welcome. We can use an Apple Watch or an iPhone to interact with our television and even a HomePod to ask it to open apps or regulate the volume through Siri, although nothing like a physical remote to navigate the system.

Whether or not we’ve experienced bugs with the Siri Remote in the past, the recommendation is always that we update to the latest version available. An update that, as we have said, takes only a few minutes to install from settings > System > Software update.
