eBundesliga: Altach and Salzburg still in command

Ried and LASK played surprisingly well in the 9th round and took valuable points from the final aspirants Hartberg and Sturm.

At the front, Altach loses ground against Rapid, which makes the pursuers Austria and Salzburg particularly happy.

SK Austria Klagenfurt – FK Austria Vienna

Wiener Austria wins all 3 games against Klagenfurter Austria. But only one win is clear. Marcel Holy (eBundesliga individual champion of 2019/20) doesn’t give Heinz Knapp a chance in the 3-0 win, although he also has to save a penalty. Nico Pankratz (SKA) does not give up despite falling behind several times. A counterattack and a nice long-range shot into the Kreuzeck are not enough in the 2: 3 against eBundesliga top man Filip Babic. A real thriller is the match between Maximilian Mayerhofer (FAK) and Justin Eck (SKA). Mayrhofer took the lead late (72′) and had to sweat until the final whistle, but managed to make it 1-0 after a few big chances for Eck. As a result, Klagenfurt loses its place in the final for the time being, is in 7th place, but tied with fifth Lustenau and sixth Rapid.

SK Rapid Wien – CASHPOINT SCR Altach

The fact that Rapid moved up to 6th place in this round is a big surprise – after all, they have the toughest opponent of all medium-sized companies and final aspirants with table leader Altach. But the Hütteldorfers are doing brilliantly. Asko Muratovic sensationally caught up a 0:3 deficit against the extremely strong Cem Korkmaz (3:3). Also because the Altach goalkeeper shoots a Rapidler on an unsuccessful tee shot. The jubilation at Rapids Matthias Pöltl, who defeated Yigit Yilmaz 2-1, is great. In the balanced third game Mustafa Arabaci and Benjamin Zidej separate 1:1. After this surprisingly weak performance, Altach is only three points ahead of pursuers Salzburg.

WSG Swarovski Tirol – RZ Pellets WAC

WSG Tirol and WAC separate fraternally with 4 points for each – but that doesn’t help either of them in the table, because the last glimmer of hope for a place in the final is probably gone. For Niklas Pichler (WAC) it means the fifth defeat in his seventh game. Tirol’s Dominik Maier has an easy time with him at 7:0. On the other hand, Michael Buchleitner (WAC) clearly beat Bastian Schwemberger (WSG) 5:2. The third game ended in a 2:2 draw because Jakob Feigl showed morale and made up a 0:2 half-time deficit against Lukas Danzl.

Red Bull Salzburg-SC Austria Lustenau

Fabio Özelt (RBS) remained unbeaten in round 9 and let it rip in the 7:0 against Florian Prosser (ALU). The two other players from Lustenau, Erik Priesnitz and Raphel Vogl, fared better – but each suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat against Haroun Yassin and Benjamin Suljanovic. All goals in these two games come before the break. While Salzburg are now only three points short of leading the table, Lustenau falls back to fifth place and still has to tremble for a place in the final.

SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz – LASK

An unbelievable 20 goals are scored in the three matches of this encounter. That happened only once in this eBundesliga season, in round 7 in a duel between Sturm and WAC. The last-placed LASK turns out to be the expected dangerous underdog against Graz. Simon Strasser (ASK) surprisingly managed to get his first point in this year’s eBundesliga team competition presented by Wiener Städtische in a dramatic 4:4 against Nico Felgitscher (STU). Sturm’s Marcel Martinelli beat Aleks Bejko 4-3 with a goal in the very last second of added time. And for Blackie veteran Philipp Gutmann it is already the fifth defeat in the ninth game – and this is particularly bitter. Because he misses a penalty when the score is 2:1 and then loses 2:3 against Fabian Wild. Storm still moves up to 4th place.

SV Guntamatic Ried vs. TSV Egger Glas Hartberg

Ried keeps the red lantern, but creates a big surprise against Hartberger and prevails with a score of 7:1 points. Christian Binder (3:2 against Daniel Spajic) and Marco Markovic (4:3 against Shpetim Zejnullahu) provided the two threes. Markovic turns a 0:2 in the game shown on LAOLA1.at. Sajic also catches up against Binder, who was 0: 2, but still loses through a snatched goal from Binder. The third match ends goalless because Patrick Uchatzy against Rene Nussbaumer only bangs the ball on the bar in front of the goalie when he has a huge chance. For the Hartbergers, this result is a major setback for a final place in the top 6. Because they fall back to 8th place in the table.
