In addition to the technical domain of the profession, lawyers must analyze and address aspects that go deeper into what should be, so that both society and the large companies they represent have the guarantee that their members are lawyers with a integral, stressed the president of ANADE, Javier Cristian Suárez Torres, at the end of the last Colloquium on Professional Ethics held at the Free Law School in collaboration with students and teachers of that institution
The National Association of Business Lawyers (ANADE) and those involved organized panels where different experts from the legal area and private initiative were involved in order to address cases where these principles apply or have been applied.
“If we do not talk about ethics, we cannot understand it and we cannot practice it, then this is one of the priorities we have as a Bar Association, which is why we decided to start the biennium with this colloquium, which is the flagship event of this first month of work and which it also follows the values of the honorary international legal organization phi delta phi that compels students and legal professionals to act ethically”, commented the executive.
“I think that bar associations like ANADE should signify a seal of quality for all members, so that it is known that whoever belongs to ANADE is a company lawyer who acts with professional ethics, it is not that we are far from achieving it. , but we do have to go step by step and the first thing is to talk about these issues and then evaluate ourselves among colleagues in the light of a potential compulsory membership that has been talked about in the last 20 years in Mexico”, highlighted the President of the organism.
Suárez Torres emphasized that after his appointment to lead this collegiate body, he will focus on working to improve the membership experience and cause a positive impact in the business community.
Likewise, he explained that they also seek to promote linkage agreements with public and private sectors, be a reference in public consultation issues and expand support to institutions through professional work, coupled with doubling their current membership of 150 company lawyers at the end of the 2023-2024 biennium.
As an example, he highlighted that on November 9 and 10 of this year, the National Fiscal Congress will be held at the Industrial Club, where it is expected to have 300 tax professionals, both national and international, and also take advantage of the occasion to celebrate the 46th anniversary of the association.
In March the Business Labor Seminar will also be held in collaboration with the TEC de Monterrey at EGADE, they also contemplate that same month an Energy Forum to update and create synergies among the union members as it is a subject that is generating a boom at a national and international level. coupled with the launch of a Sports Law Committee.
