Americans kidnapped in Matamoros: One of those responsible is arrested

A person related to the kidnapping of the four Americans in Matamoros was arrested on Tuesday in flagrante delicto, reported the governor of Tamaulipas Américo Villareal during the press conference on the subject organized by the Secretariat of Public Security and Citizen Protection (SSPyPC).

This is José Guadalupe “N”, 24 years old, who was watching people deprived of liberty inside a wooden house located in the vicinity of the “La Lagunona” lagoon in the “El Tecolote” ejido in Matamoros .

The four people identified as three men and one woman were located this Tuesday morning after being kidnapped just a few hours after crossing the border on Friday, March 3. Two of them were found lifeless while the woman was unharmed and one of the men, Erick “N”, presented a gunshot wound. Both were immediately transferred to a state clinic for medical attention, the governor said.

Americans were kidnapped while crossing the border

The four United States citizens were kidnapped shortly after crossing the border to buy medicine, López Obrador reported Monday.

According to the FBI report, the four men arrived in Matamoros from Brownsville, Texas on Friday, March 3, and were traveling in a white minivan with North Carolina license plates when they were abducted by armed men.
