The 11th edition of the National Cadet Athletics Championships took place on Saturday February 25 on the field of the former SNJ in Djicoroni-Para in Commune IV of the district of Bamako. At the end of a breathtaking competition, the regionals won almost everything by winning most of the medals in front of the athletes from Bamako.
More than a hundred athletes from the different athletics areas of Mali wearing the costume of champion of their category met in Bamako for the 11th edition of the National Cadet Athletics Championships. The events for girls and boys are: the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 3000m for the races in addition to the long jump and shot put competitions.
Seventeen (17) clubs were in the starting blocks. Among the girls, the queen event, that is to say the 100 m, was won by Odile Kamaté of CAJS. Siga Diaby from AS AK and Awa Traoré from Sigui de Kayes are ranked 2nd and 3rd.
Among the boys, Samba Coulibaly of Usfas dominated his competitors. Ousmane M. Touré from AS Niafounké and Boubacar Diané from Sigui de Kayes came 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the general classification, AS Alençon de Koutiala is in the lead with 7 medals including 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. The second place is occupied by CAJS with 4 medals 3 gold and 1 bronze. The Réveil Athletic Club de Kati (RAK) completes the podium with 4 medals 2 gold and 2 bronze.
It is important to specify that the performances achieved by the athletes during these championships will not be approved by World Athletic for lack of a track that meets the standards.
