“Glory to Ukraine!”. And then he died. There is a figure who is becoming a true hero of the Ukrainian resistance and who, for many, is yet another proof that crimes of war in ukraine.
A Ukrainian soldier was killed in cold blood by multiple shots from what appear to be automatic weapons. The scene was filmed and shared by several pro-Russian groups. Before dying, the man, with apparent calm, pulled out a cigarette, threw away the tobacco and repeated the well-known slogan in support of Kiev. A battery of shots followed with the man already on the ground, dead.
A case that has already echoed throughout Ukraine and which has led the highest political figures to react. Among them the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who called for the intervention of the International Criminal Court, arguing that this is “proof that this war is genocidal”.
“It is imperative that (prosecutor) Karim Khan open an immediate investigation (by the International Criminal Court) into this heinous crime”, added Dmytro Kuleba, calling for “the perpetrators to face justice”.

Ukraine’s performance is already at the highest level, with the country’s Human Rights Commissioner announcing that it has sent the video to “international partners”. Dmytro Lubinets argues that there was a violation of the Geneva conventions, asking that the perpetrators of the crime not escape responsibility.
The Ukrainian president began by leaving a message with a black photograph on which three sentences can be read: “Glory to the hero! Glory to our heroes! Glory to Ukraine”.

Volodymyr Zelensky, in his usual evening speech, classified this case as a “brutal murder”, promising that the perpetrators of the crime will be caught.
Ukraine’s secret services have already registered this case and the Prosecutor General’s Office has opened a case.
Ukraine has repeatedly accused Russia of committing war crimes on Ukrainian soil, from the use of chemical weapons such as white phosphorus to the brutal murder of soldiers and civilians.
