Big Brother Vip 2022/2023

Never seen an episode of Big Brother VIP more meek and calm than the one aired on Monday 6 March. The Canale 5 reality show returns to the excesses of recent weeks following the outburst of Pier Silvio Berlusconi, who in recent days, in concert with the host Alfonso Signorini, blocked the repeat of the reality show on La 5 and had the episode canceled by Mediaset Play, contesting the vulgarity and excess profanity also condemned by Signorini at the opening of the episode.

With what result? That of a chloroform episode, in which there was room only and exclusively for good feelings, intimist nuances, unresolved family relationships. No quarrels, not even the shadow of the caciara in Italian-Spanish sauce that took place in recent weeks, that alternation between bullfighting and rustic duels that had led to a reaction of indignation on the part of the management and the conductor himself. As if by magic, the cast was sedated and allowed themselves an exhausting episode in view of the final sprint for the closure of the reality show, which will take place in less than a month.

Not bad, it will be said, if it weren’t for the Big Brother Vip built on doing good and immersed in a climate of forced armistice is almost less digestible than the one that constantly pushes the permitted limits and violates the unwritten rules of what common sense would induce not to mention on television. On the other hand, that reality TV is the theater of excess is indisputable and the GF Vip in recent years has been a faithful mirror of this philosophy.

On the other hand, the call of the furious Pier Silvio can peacefully be read as a move that has the aftertaste of strategy. On the one hand that of the publisher who marks in red the impassable border that should never be crossed, on the other that of focusing attention on the fate of a program which, while confirming itself as Mediaset’s goose that lays the golden eggs, is constantly center of an ethical-moral debate on the opportunity to be produced, to exist tout court. And therefore, having reached the seventh month of this infinite edition, what better time to feed uncertainties about an upcoming edition of Big Brother Vip?

“The future belongs to the curious by profession”, recited the line from an old film that I try to remember every day. I have been writing about entertainment and television since 2012, nurturing the hope of being able to tell the reality we see through a screen, of any size. Renzo Arbore is my prophet.
