Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi will have his own animated series from a Sony Music Entertainment production in collaboration with Leo Messi Management.
The news, revealed today by the specialized portal Deadline, indicated that the series will show the captain of the World Champion Team as a child and the obstacles he will have to face while traveling through a video game.
“Since I was a child I have always liked animated series and my children are big ‘fans’ of animated characters. Being able to participate in an animation project makes me happy because it fulfills one of my dreams,” Messi told Deadline.
The project, which will be produced in English, Spanish and other languages, will feature original music by as-yet-unannounced Sony artists.
The 35-year-old star from Rosario, who currently plays for French PSG, last week won The Best award for Best Player and thus boasts more than 50 international awards showing his stature as a soccer legend.
