The project will be produced by Sony Music Entertainment in collaboration with Leo Messi Management. “Since I was a kid I’ve always loved animated series and my kids are big fans of animated characters. Being able to participate in an animation project makes me happy because it makes one of my dreams come true”, said Messi to “Deadline”. The series will be aimed at children and teenagers and will show the recent world Cup as a child and the obstacles faced when traveling through a video game. The project, which will be produced in English, Spanish and other languages, will feature original music from yet-to-be-announced Sony artists and composers. This will be the first animated series created by Sony Music Entertainment, which in the past has directed documentaries such as “Pearl Jam 20” and “Cypress Hill: Insane in the Brain”. Fernando Cabral, an executive at Sony, told “Deadline” that it is “a privilege” for the company to have the opportunity to portray the strength and lessons of sport thanks to Messi.
