Lenny Kravitz will perform at the tribute "In Memoriam" of the Oscars

Little by little, the names of the stars who will put music to the film gala are revealed. American musician Lenny Kravitz will perform at the Oscars within the segment “In Memoriam”a space in which members of the film industry who died the previous year are honored, the Hollywood Academy announced on Monday.

The four-time Grammy-winning artist will thus appear in one of the most followed parts annually in the broadcast of these awards and that isLast year it featured the music of The Sample Choir as protagonist.

Kravitz thus joining the select group of singers, led by Rihanna, who will set the scene musically for the 95th Academy Awards. An edition that, according to the Hollywood Academy, will have other visible faces of the song world that have not yet been revealed.

Writer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Kravitz has transcended genres over more than three decades of musical career with the recording of eleven studio albums and over forty million copies sold internationally.

As the only child of the actress Roxie Roker and the film producer Sy Kravitz, Lenny Kravitz has deep connections with Hollywood, since he was also married to the actress Lisa Bonet and their daughter is the interpreter Zoë Kravitz, known mainly for the films Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) and batman (2022).

Likewise, he has lavished himself on the big screen, embodying various roles in productions such as precious (2009), Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013), The Butler (2013) or Shotgun Wedding (2022).

The 95th edition of the Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 12 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles (United States), will feature comedian Jimmy Kimmel as master of ceremonies and will be televised live on the chain abc in more than two hundred territories throughout the world.
