In Buryatia, the son of one of the main local oppositionists, Natalia Filonova, was sent to an orphanage after her mother was arrested

Guardianship authorities in Buryatia have sent to a remote orphanage the adopted son of oppositionist Natalya Filonova, who is under arrest in the case of an “attack” on police officers. About this edition «7×7» and “Siberia. Realities” said her friend, human rights activist Nadezhda Nizovkina.

According to her, 16-year-old Vladimir Alalykin has been in an orphanage in the village of Barguzin since March 5 (located 300 kilometers from Ulan-Ude). The orphanage told 7×7 that the boy might be given to his relatives if they turn to the guardianship authorities.

Nadezhda Nizovkina also said that the court had returned the criminal case against Filonova for additional investigation.

Natalya Filonova in the fall of 2022 participated in Ulan-Ude in rallies against mobilization in Russia. Because of this, an administrative protocol was drawn up against her on violating the rules of the rally, but the court acquitted her. In October, a criminal case was opened against Filonova under the article on violence against a representative of the authorities due to the fact that she allegedly attacked two police officers while she was being taken to a court session.

The court sent Filonova under house arrest. At the end of October, she violated the conditions of detention after her husband, who went on a visit to the Trans-Baikal Territory, had a heart attack, and her adopted son disappeared. The investigator refused to let Filonova go to the Trans-Baikal Territory. She went there without permission, visited her husband in the hospital and found her son. Shortly after she returned to Buryatia, she was sent to a pre-trial detention center.

In December 2022, after Filonova’s arrest, the guardianship authorities took the woman’s adopted son from her relatives and placed her in the hospital.
