The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flavio Dinofoot to Federal police (PF) to investigate the attempt by the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to illegally bring jewelry valued at R$ 16.5 million to Brazil. As Estadão revealed, the jewels were a gift from Saudi Arabia to the then president and first lady Michelle Bolsonaro and were seized at Guarulhos airport (SP) in October 2021. The objects were in the backpack of the advisor to the then Minister of Mines and Energia, Bento Albuquerque, who was returning from a trip to the Middle East.
“The facts, in the way they are presented, may constitute crimes against the Public Administration typified in the Penal Code, among others. the investigative action of the Federal Police is imperative”, wrote Dino in a letter sent this Monday morning to the general director of the PF, Andrei Passos Rodrigues.
