Former Zidane assistant becomes Lindner's new coach

Heinz Lindner gets a new head coach at FC Sion with David Bettoni.

The 51-year-old Frenchman has been signed by the Swiss first division club until the end of the season. Already on Tuesday he will lead his first training session.

For Bettoni it will be the first station as head coach. However, he brings a wealth of experience at the highest European level, having won the Champions League three times between 2016 and 2018 as Zinedine Zidane’s assistant at Real Madrid. He also assisted Zidane at Los Blancos between 2019 and 2021.

At Sion, Bettoni succeeds Fabio Celestini, who was sacked last week. After 23 games, Sion is only second to last in the Swiss Super League.
