Increasingly divided ahead of the October elections / archive
The chief of staff of the province of Buenos Aires, Martín Insaurralde, joined the operation yesterday and also expressed his desire that Vice President Cristina Fernández be a candidate for president by the Front of All (FdT), noting that it is about “The most qualified person to govern Argentina and build a better future.”
Through a series of posts on social networks, the mayor of Lomas de Zamora on leave referred to the applications in the province of Buenos Aires. Along these lines, he asserted: “If Cristina is a candidate for president and considers that Axel is the candidate in the Province, I will be the first to accompany him, as I did in 2019 and in 2021, joining the team as chief of staff.”
The Lomense leader, linked to deputy Máximo Kirchner, joined the Buenos Aires cabinet in 2021, after the defeat of the FdT in the legislative elections.
Meanwhile, next Saturday in Avellaneda, the camporismo set up a plenary session under the slogan “Fight and come back, Cristina 2023”, and it is expected that all the K organizations and the mayors of the sector conclude with a document in which they will once again ask the vice -who would not go to the appointment- to review her decision not to be a candidate.
As reported yesterday, Cristina would have warned that she will not be a candidate in any position and they assure that this position has already transcended her most closed circle. But the clamor will continue, despite the fact that this week the foundations of her sentence to prison for 6 years for public works in Santa Cruz will be known.
On Thursday, the Federal Oral Court 2 will disseminate the arguments of the sentence that established the perpetual disqualification for the exercise of the public function of the vice president, a resolution that gave Cristina Kirchner herself and her fans the foot to denounce the supposed “proscription ”.
The next day, the former president has an agenda to visit Viedma, Río Negro, with the excuse of delivering a distinction with which she could reappear with a public speech against Justice, beyond the appeal of the ruling.
On the side of albertismo
Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis, affirmed that the ruling coalition of the Frente de Todos (FdT) thinks with “expectation” in the elections and called on the militancy to follow the “path” marked by President Alberto Fernández and the Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kichner and “do everything” so that Peronism “wins again”.
In addition, the official considered that the PASO are “a good instance to make the FdT a powerful and participatory place.” The open primaries have been requested by the President to go for his re-election.
Katopodis pointed out that “what yields is the FdT” and “not the candidacies”, while he assured that Peronism will define “the candidates when the time is right.”
“Our candidate is going to be competitive with many with a good chance of winning this election,” he added.
For Katopodis, this is “the end of the discussion and not the beginning”, and pointed out that the ruling party is going to “take the necessary time” to build “the necessary agreements” for the definition of the applicants.
“If the STEP helps us to win in October, we will STEP, and if not, we will do what we have to do,” he stressed.
