From next season, a Walloon team will also participate in the cyclocross races with BH Wallonie MTB Team. This was announced by the Walloon-Brussels cycling federation (FCWB) on the eve of the Cyclo-cross World Championships.
Cyclo-cross has been popular almost exclusively in Flanders since its inception in our country. But that is gradually changing.
In the juniors, 17-year-old Antoine Jamin has achieved good results. The FCWB would like to continue and expand this in the coming years.
Jamin will form a two-man team together with Clément Horny, the vice-Belgian champion in the elite without a contract, although they will have a full staff together. Bicycle constructor BH provides the material.
“This is just a starting point,” the FCWB said. “Other young people can also benefit from this framework in the future if their potential or results hold the promise that they can participate at the highest level.”
