Yolanda RC, 54 years old, was apprehended in a house that functioned as a “picadero”, in reference to the place where heroin users go to inject themselves.
Mexican authorities detained in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua state, an alleged operator of Los Mexicles, as a violent local gang that is linked to the Sinaloa Cartel is known.
The State Investigation Agency detained Yolanda RC, 54, during a police operation in a house on Los Cedros street, in the Parajes del Sur neighborhood, in Ciudad Juárez.
The agents identified that the site, operated by Los Mexicles, It worked as a “picadero”referring to the place where heroin users go to inject themselves.
In the next few hours, Yolanda RC will be presented before a control judge to define her legal situation. She was apprehended under charges of violation of the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives and Against Health.

The Mexicles are a violent criminal group that operates in Chihuahua, mainly in Ciudad Juárez. The gang has great control in the entity’s prisons, as was seen on January 1, when it provoked a riot at the Social Readaptation Center (Cereso) No. 3, which left 17 dead and 27 escaped initially.
Among the escaped inmates was Ernesto Alberto Piñón de La Cruz, known as ‘El Neto’, considered one of the leaders of Los Mexicles. The individual died days later in a confrontation with the Police.
Law enforcement is still looking for 14 escaped inmates, after recapturing 12.
